I am going to seem like a real Philistine here - but I actually prefer that treatment - a time-lapse sequence showing the movement of the stars across the sky - to the more usual "star trail" images. Interesting

I don't know if you have access to Lightroom 3 or 4 but that is also capable of converting still images into a Timelapse Video.

@Overread I think you mean Longworth traps however in your circumstances I would go for poison (and hope that they crawl downstairs to die so you dont get the smell from the decaying corpse :P:P) if they do die in your flat - and you find the body i'm sure you can do some intersting timelapse photography as it turns to dust!!;);)

Has anyone here worn out their camera (as in, failed due to a lot of usage, rather than through being dropped, etc.)? If so, would you care to share the manufacturer and model and how long it lasted, both in terms of time and number of photographs? It's not worn out but my Canon 10D is 4.5 years old has taken aproximately 120,000 + images and is virtually indistinguishable from the day it wa...

I repeat my critical keywords (ie in my case the title of the site) in every alt tag, followed by the name of the image. eg A holiday in Turkey - Apollo's Temple. Justified as it is the name of the site and gets them out there as often as possible.

Mmm, very technical. :) I have got one of those remote/timers from 7Day Shop (£15 app) with a whole bag of of options, but you can't operate lights from it, so it's not the ideal solution.

I love the slo-mo, especially the Indian sequences. They're almost like image stills but with such depth.

Hi again, bit of a stupid question but Ive downloaded registacks and cant seem to work it out. I was under the impression that you would add a lot of photos and the programme would align them and then stack them? But I seem to be able to only add one photo, there is then a window to my left where i have sliders to move up numbered 1 to 6 ? when i move them the photo is enhanced cant seem to fin...

Are you shooting some different subjects? Yes and no - landscapes are still the main part of my pf, but looking at a couple of different projects Are you using different techniques with the camera? Yes, always experimenting, long lens, limited DOF, strobe work, Infreared (getting bored with that. Have you got new kit which has advanced your work? Yes, a walkabout lens, macro lens (hardly u...

I started my 365 day stint as something to do on my daily speed walk. I used to take my heavy bridge camera but now just take a compact and try to capture something around my village walk . I record birds, trees, plants, buildings anything that catches my eye. it doesn't need to be a competition winning shot just a daily record . You might try record one framed shot of a particular view in y...

What a nice little conversation we're having here CB, so civil. Not like some of those other unruly threads. The books are From still to motion. This looks the most readable, but maybe basic. DSLR cinema. Covers similar ground, but i think in a bit more depth Master shots (100 advanced camera techniques) every page is a different shot i.e. backwards dolly, pivot on characters etc. a good ...
