New Tripod, which model?
I have actually now gat the Manfrotto Digi 725B. I liked the lightweight of the tripod, and although they list it for use with a digi compact the max weight limit is 3.5kg! I have used it with my D200 and Sigma 10- 20 and it's easily stable enough :)

Help with Tripod Dilemma
In reference to the comment about looking for the Holy Grail, I am well aware of the need to compromise somewhere as I stated in my question. I do find it difficult not being able to go into a shop and try out different tripods and heads. We only have Jessops in our area and all the Manfrottos and heads are special order only.

Correction: The camera and tripod are light enough to hold steady off the ground to look though the viewfinder while i snap away, Dave

I've been using the Velbon CX Mini for quite a while now with my two Fuji cameras and have no complaints at all. Very useful for when I'm doing my guitar shots as it gets laid on the floor or a low bed. Not sure if that is of any use!

Thanks for the comments, everyone - a lot of food for thought. Cheers!

Tripod advice sought
Original setup was 055ProB and 322RC2. Superb setup can't fault it. Sold 055ProB on eBay for virtually what I bought it for and put money towards a Manfrotto Neotec. Also superb only also very convenient.

Which tripod for under 120
I do agree with Andy, I have a Manfrotto 144birdpro and a 128rc head I think is on it, quite an old model but solid as a rock(and very heavy) and a Benbo Trekker 2, the Benbo is definetly more versatile, however in the strong wind the Manfrotto wins hands down for stability. IMHO Cheers, Jason

OK I've plumped.. Bought myself a Manfrotto 804RC2 head.. Of course it didn't fit and I had to buy the adator screw thingy and there are no decent phot shops around here so I couldn't play.... Interestingly despite what everyone says (and I appreciate I'm going to be shot down here) I didn't find any deals on the internet, other than a couple of secondhand ones on eBay...The best price...

Quick update: Apparently Velbon are not supplying the cases anymore, but they haven't changed the boxes or the advert on the web. But they're going to get me a case anyway and send it when it comes in. So thumbs up for Warehouse Express in the end! Ed.
