About the ePHOTOzine Intern Program

Magezine Publishing Ltd have an unpaid work experience program for students and graduates wishing to gain work experience in web and magazine publishing. Our main product is ePHOTOzine, the UK's leading, award-winning, online photography magazine, which looks great on any CV!

Students will spend their time working with the editorial and advertising team to gain valuable hands-on experience of day to day business of publishing. We do not currently have a marketing department but would be happy for you to practice your skills in this sector to gain experience while bringing value to our business.

Who can apply?

We will offer work experience to students, new graduates or exceptionally qualified candidates. You must be an EU citizen or have a visa that authorises you to undertake work experience or an internship in the UK. Whether you are a graduate or someone who is looking to change career paths, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills at a progressive publishing company. For editorial placements we would like to see an example of your writing skills which could be an article with bylines on web or printed material.

What do we require?

You need to be a clear thinker, numerate and literate with excellent computer skills. We are looking for proactive people who are able to use their own initiative and communicate with our customers. Also people who can cope in a busy work environment and take on multiple tasks at once.

We will assess your suitability by looking at your most recent academic achievement, work and/or voluntary experience.

How long is a placement?

You must be able to work for a minimum of four weeks and we will consider flexible hours.

What work will be offered?

Editorial jobs will include researching and writing news stories, processing press releases, answering reader emails, assisting at events, coordinating mail-outs, reviewing products, assist with website content management, scanning files, proof reading, journalist interviews, attending team meetings and brainstorms, product photography and video filming and production. Advertising will include preparation of proposals, client contact, database management and research.

You will be working on real projects that will make a difference to our company and give you a great boost to your CV.

Where is the work placement?

Students are placed with either editorial or advertising departments for the duration of the internship so they can focus on one area of the business. Please specify your preference for editorial or advertising when applying.

Will I be paid?

Unfortunately, we can only offer unpaid work experience, but we may be able to reimburse travel costs which should be requested on application.

Will there be a job with Magezine Publishing upon completion of my internship?

There may not be current vacancies but it's your opportunity to impress us. If we think you are a strong performer, we will stay in contact when any future vacancies arise.

Where are you based?

Our address is The Turbine, Shireoaks Triangle Business Park, Coach Close, Shireoaks, Notts S81 8AP. The Turbine is a brand new innovation centre with excellent transport links from A1/M1. There is an onsite cafe, free parking, wi-fi and shower facilities.

When does the scheme run?

Our scheme runs all year, excluding Christmas holiday period.
