About the ePHOTOzine Intern Program
Magezine Publishing Ltd have an unpaid work experience program for students and graduates wishing to gain work experience in web and magazine publishing. Our main product is ePHOTOzine, the UK's leading, award-winning, online photography magazine, which looks great on any CV!Students will spend their time working with the editorial and advertising team to gain valuable hands-on experience of day to day business of publishing. We do not currently have a marketing department but would be happy for you to practice your skills in this sector to gain experience while bringing value to our business.
Who can apply?
We will offer work experience to students, new graduates or exceptionally qualified candidates. You must be an EU citizen or have a visa that authorises you to undertake work experience or an internship in the UK. Whether you are a graduate or someone who is looking to change career paths, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills at a progressive publishing company. For editorial placements we would like to see an example of your writing skills which could be an article with bylines on web or printed material.What do we require?
You need to be a clear thinker, numerate and literate with excellent computer skills. We are looking for proactive people who are able to use their own initiative and communicate with our customers. Also people who can cope in a busy work environment and take on multiple tasks at once.We will assess your suitability by looking at your most recent academic achievement, work and/or voluntary experience.
How long is a placement?
You must be able to work for a minimum of four weeks and we will consider flexible hours.What work will be offered?
Editorial jobs will include researching and writing news stories, processing press releases, answering reader emails, assisting at events, coordinating mail-outs, reviewing products, assist with website content management, scanning files, proof reading, journalist interviews, attending team meetings and brainstorms, product photography and video filming and production. Advertising will include preparation of proposals, client contact, database management and research.You will be working on real projects that will make a difference to our company and give you a great boost to your CV.
