The drinking heavily is not compulsory. Should I expect a hung-over phone call @0:30 as usual ?

Have to be honest Dave, having been to both Epping Forest & The Giants Causeway, the second is slightly more spectacular so I would go with that if you can.

Only been to the GC twice but the thing I have learnt is the parking is blooming expensive if you are not an NT member...but if you turn up towards the end of the day the parking bloke has gone home & you can save a few quid

Planning on staying at a b&b that seems within walking distance. If not can you get too it at sunrise?

Don't know, I should think so (I seem to remember you pay for the bus not access) - but things might have changed.
@Matt - oh goody, I'll look forward to that!

LMAO... may just go for the 'crawled through the undergrowth' look that early starts give...

As is now traditional this will take place on the day the clocks go back. This will be a chance to capture some of the Autumn colours and if the mushroom gods are with us, plenty of fungus shots too. FAQs are below
What are the details?
Date: 28th October
Time:10:00 Though some may opt for an earlier start
Location:
Same as last year
The carpark off the B172 from the Wakes Arms Roundabout to Theydon Bois.

Heading from the M25 j26 follow the signs to Loughton, till you get to a large roundabout with an "Old Orleans" on your left. Take the 2nd exit to Theydon Bois. About 500yards down the road there are 2 carparks on either side of the road, ideally use the one on the right, though we may need the one on the left if there are loads of us!
If there are even more of us there is another carpark further down on the left.

What things that will be useful to bring?
Camera & gear
Waterproof boots (it will be muddy)
Waterproof sheet to lay on
Packed lunch and drink as we may end up far from civilisation at lunchtime.
A sense of humour.
What will it be like ?
A write up of the first meet can be seen here and in The Book. More on Epping Forest can be found in this Location Report.
That looks great how do I sign up?
Add your name to this thread and at some point PM your mobile phone number to me (this helps if people are going to arrive late and will help me if we lose some of you in the forest).
