I do not know of any web site that compares boot volumes, other than looking into each vehicle manufacturers sites to get the information.
But you could also consider removing the spare wheel and tools and replacing with a pump and goo system for the times you need the extra space or even adding a roof box. then there a towbar and trailer or even a transit van!

I too have a Mondeo state, all I need as extra is a roof rack, which on ocasion has served me well. I do not think yu will get much bigger boot space in any other state cars unles you go for those 7 seater van things a renault space or whaever, or a ford galaxy if you get my drift.

You could try Parkers. They give a luggage capacity in litres, although they may give dimensions if you dig deeper.

I've driven estates for a large part of my life and you will struggle to find anything much bigger than a Mondeo, maybe the bigger Volvos, but even they are not as big as they used to be.
I currently have a BMW 5 Series and I doubt that it is any bigger.

I had a Mondy estate, but replaced it with a Mk3 Galaxy. The new Galaxy has folding seats and not the old removable type so with the rear seats folded and the middle row moved forward, the floor is approx 1300 x 1150w. and still seats 5, or you could put the middle row down and the space is huge. I travel 30k+ a year and it's great, very comfortable or take a look at the SMax or the new Mondy estate. They're all based on the same running gear.

I would have thought an MPV-type vehicle, which has seats that fold, could take more than any estate car based on a saloon.

The passatt estate is pretty big however I think the class leaders are the merc and bwn estates. With the back seats down the merc has almost as much cubic capacity as a range rover.

Buy a Van... you can get some with two rows of seats still, I've seen Network Rail use them for moving a crew and all their kit around.

Basically I just can't have anything with a smaller boot than the mondy - apparently I can have a new car but as I fill half the boot up with camera gear when we go on holiday, I'm not allowed to reduce the boot size. Either that or I won't be allowed all my gear & that would never do!

I've got a Zafira, very flexible and a very large boot if you dont want/have passengers, doesnt corner very well but is quite economical given its size. In laws have a Honda Accord tourer, very nice car and a big boot.
Here at Lobster Manor we are thinking of replacing some of the staff cars. At the moment we have Mondeo Estates which have a nice cavernous boot - ideal for taking things to the church bric-a-brac stall or the odd run into town to pick up some supplies from Fortnums.
Anyway we are looking at replacing the mondeo estates and were wondering if there is a site on the web that will allow me to compare the size of estate car boots? As this is the most critical bit of the car.
