Thanks folks.
lucie, for real. and the ones behind are fried beetles.
i was there for 4 weeks and swore i'd sample at least one fried creepy-crawly by the time i left, but i bottled out in the end. they're meant to be very tasty, though.

How could someone NOT click on a picture titled 'fried cockroach'?!! Maybe a crop in a little tighter would even make it more eye catching? Still, click for moxie. Did you eat some?

Not surprised you bottled it, I couldn't eat them . Great pic though, and what a great place to say you've been and seen.

Great Picture with excellent detail and at times almost looks like the picture itself is been infested from the bottom up.

Excellent composition with the focal point right on the cockroach. A real shock for anyone looking without being warned.
What are those black things behind?

Hi graham. believe it or not, it is possible to find very good food in cambodia ... you just have to look very hard!
mavis, they eat all kind of creepy crawlies in south east asia, like maggots, and grasshoppers. they enjoy them as a snack (like crisps or peanuts or something) not because they can't afford anything better.
thanks for stopping by.
