Sandstone and Sky 2

Sandstone and Sky 2 by PatrickSmith
Here is a companion view to last week's 'Sandstone and Sky', as I tried to line up the sandstone to the clouds above by moving down the beach. This one got me wet, but I wanted to get lower to capture a livlier scene with the wave impacting the rock.
This was about 1 hour after sunrise. I rarely see good light in California much after about 1/2 hour after sunrise or 1/2 hour before sunset so I made the most of it! But the last two weeks of stormy weather have changed that a bit.
1/15 second exposure @F22 with 2 ND grad 0.9's

Jacqueline, this was about an hour after a brilliant sunrise, so yes, you don't need the intense colours all the time. I may put up the sunrise one sometime.
Godo to hear from you Chris. I was wondering where you'd gone.
True Martin, this has more action and is livlier and there is more sun here. The last one was about structure I think.

Hi Patrick, I like the fg rock clarity and colours, the eye catching sky and the sea to the rhs but for me the crashing wave is slightly distracting and blocking my view to the gap in the clouds where the light source is eminating from. Small quibble really but it does mar it a little for me, you can tell me to mind my own business if you want since I suspect you tried hard to catch that wave.
