Thank for Ann for your Award on the Little Owl yesterday

very much appreciated and to you all for your comments

Not around much as have to take Cassie my elderly cat to vet

Lovely picture of Ashley. Ashley is a melanistic Barn Owl. Still the same species of the Tyto Alba.

Meaning of melanistic: An increased amount of black or nearly black pigmentation of an organism, resulting from the presence of melanin.
It is the opposite of albino, which occurs due to lack of melanin.

There are a number of articles under Black Barn Owl which may help Lillian.

Have never seen a dark faced barn owl either, Lillian, nor the other two at V 2 and 3.
Hope Cassie is OK and all goes well at the vet's.

A Great set Lillian.
Hope all goes well with the vet and your bill wont be a big one ,as we find here it cheaper to have a vet to see to a cow than our cats.

Can we have the site user names for Graeme and Chris? It's always great to put a face to a name.

It's weird what photographs can do. When V3 opened up I found myself breaking into this huge smile Grin LOVE that shot. Both the gents look like really nice people, actually.

Now that's a very beautiful and interesting looking owl, Lillian. SUPERB angle you've caught him from too.

What a great shot Smile
