A superb capture of character and characterful musicianship. Also a welcome change from the popular use of the violin as an embarrassed-looking prop in so many glamour shots: this lady certainly knows how to play the instrument. Look at the finger positions on both fingerboard and bow, and the textbook right wrist!

Colour, balance of tones, use of the frame, plus perfect timing to catch that fantastic expression, all tick the right boxes. There is just the slightest hint of movement in the bowing hand and rather more in the vibrating A-string - hooray! to both.
Beware in case somebody criticises the rumpled background cloth; I couldn't care less. This is definitely my picture of the day.

I am with Bill. Great photo of a fiddler (presumably Celtic) truly enjoying her work. Great catch to see the virbrating A string.
