This is one of 4 steam tug boats that sank around 1905, in Georgian Bay.They caught fire and were towed out of the harbour, but strong winds blew them back where they sank. This is the only one of the tugs that is partly out of the water. 20 years ago, this wreck was totally submerged in the water. Water levels on the Great Lakes are depleting at an alarming rate.

Hi Brenda, not much left of the tug......I have heard how much the water level of the lakes is dropping. Connected to climate change? I have close friends in Algoma Wisconsin, living just a few miles from Lake Michigan. It is very distressing. Good photo of a distressing situation.

Your mentioning the Georgian Bay brings back fond childhood memories. My Uncle (and now his daughter) owns a cabin on Otter Lake in the Parry Sound area near the Georgian Bay.
I still remember swimming in those pristine waters.
