Couldn't resist posting this picture. All day this chap had been back and forward for birdcake, for his young. The picture was taken on one of his visits (around 4 p.m.). He looked around for a while then closed his eyes for about 10 secs, before making another visit to the table.

The joys of parenthood eh?

Thanks for all your c&cs on the skimmer they are much appreciated.

This is so good. The colours and detail are excellent. Great capture of a quite elusive bird (I've only heard them but never saw one!). JNC

Not only is this an outstanding image and a fine composition, but the bird is so endearing, being tired and weary.

You should be very proud of this shot, I would if it were mine, but it isn't, so I can only weep with disappointment.
Geoff.

His eyes were in unison with your shutter finger.
Was out with Nikontuk and spotted one of these but after a long wait and lots of flitting around, neither of us got a decent shot. This is super, great colours and DOF and, as had already been said...very endearing.
