A lovely image of this endearing blackbird, Keith - has much cropping been done?
Just wondered, that's all, having looked at the lens and extender combination on a number of your images.

Hi Richard,

This one has had a crop from the right to remove a messy bit of background, but it's the full frame height. The House Sparrow 3 was the full frame. Most of the other bird shots were either full frame or had a slight trim, again to remove a messy bit.

I'm not into heavy cropping. In the old days on transparency you couldn't. But that's not the real reason. I may be slightly misqouting him, but the photographer Robert Capa who co-founded the Magnum agency said 'if your subject isn't large enough you're not close enough'.
