You wonder what's going on, seeing a figure lying on the bridge.

Stop, ask: you'll find it's it's Ben Wilson, a guerilla artist, painting chewing gum.

Why? He hates chewing gum, and loves making people happy with art.

Is it legal? Yes: as the police found when they charged Ben with criminal damage. He isn't defacing public property, committing criminal damage. He's painting rubbish.

A nice bloke, with a wry sense of humour. And a deft touch with a brush, even on a cold day in January, lying on a metal bridge over the Thames.

Digital art? Well, yes. Art that Ben creates, using his digits...

A compelling narrative with great supporting images. Having lived in London years ago it's interesting to see how things have changed.

A well shot and informative series of images.
So the police would likely have wanted to bring in helicopters and armed response units for someone like this Wink

V6 for the loneliness of the artistic genius. V7 for the sociability of same.
I've just had a very entertaining few minutes reading up on the court case.

Maybe... But I think that they have a reasonable working relationship - rather like the way that Mark Thomas (journalist/activist/standup comedian) has, having run a series of demonstrations in the Westminster area (where Tony Blair tried to prevent too much protesting going on).

After all, if the police do their job properly, they test things out, and work with the results. They aren't actually either stupid or obstructive by nature. Just rather conservative and cautious!

I cross the bridge every day and see him often, even in the very cold weather. His work is fabulous and very detailed. I always walk with eyes scanning the ridged floor to spot new works. You have captured him excellently.
