I spotted this fungi growing on an oak tree in the woods next to a lake the colour is stunning. Could someone tell me the name of this please.
this shot was very noisy so I used the noiseware pro programe on it and I have to say it's the best plugin i've ever bought

The colours look rather oversaturated to me but if they're a decent representation it's one great fungi.
Sorry can't identify it, but it would be good for others if you could provide a little info, such as what sort of tree it was growing on, habitat, general conditions of the surroundings, as it will all help.

Andy, I think they called this Polypores...
if it is... The polypore is so called because its underside is covered by many pores which produce the spores. The mushrooms are often shelf-like and fan-shaped.
They typically inhabit living or dead trees.
