This image of a Heron on the lookout for a little fishy to put on his dishy was taken a couple of days ago. It's my first go with a new lens i got recently as part of my birthday pressies Smile, It's a Sigma 50-500mm f4-6.3 EX DG Lens - 4/3 Fit. Very little cropping was done and the bird was a good distance away from me. I'm impressed with it just got to learn more about the setting and just having a good ole play with it LOL.

Herons are great subjects but I have never yet managed to get a really good shot of one. I'm envious.

Both the mods just give that little bit of extra detail in the plumage. He certainly posed ver nicely for you.
