ONe of Ilkley's gems is the Cow and Calf rocks, the cow is covered in carvings from across the years

This is a good record shot, but one that depresses me somewhat - why would people wish to desecrate these rocks so badly?

without the carvings, it'd be a very bland place... reading people's names from the 1890's and beyond is quite an adventure
