Dave and Rich were round last night - got my DJ out and got some shots.

Probably my favourite with these props. Had the glass in his ovther hand for a while and it just wasn't working, everythig nwas crammed to the left - got him to put the glass on his knee and things just seemed so much more balanced

Cheers folks - done a few shots for the landscape fans, now a few for the studio crew Smile

Dave and Richard had the lights set up pretty much like this when I got downstairs from emptying a CF card, I just lowered the light to the right a bit to make more of the glass really.

I drank the wine after - a 14% grenache, quite a kick to it too Smile

get on EBAY and get some cheap lights Dazz - my set was 180! Not ideal for pro stuff, but for learning and doing stuff on rainy days, they're ideal.

a length of black velvet from the markey makes a backdrop too of course Smile

You have the uncanny knack of switching styles seamlessly Ade. This in particular is very stricking, not just because of the subject but more the mood it was taken in, i think. Light hearted with a goal in mind, with people who understand the concept, am i wrong?
Far from me to critique your work, but would have like to have seen a bit more of the smoke, difficult i know, but the smoke trail seems to get lost around his face and hand. Apart from, good to see you on the dark side again!

This is just done using 2 strobes - those are basically lighting heads, just their sunday-best name. one to the left had a softbox bouncing off the walls, gives that dark look, yet soft. the right was a brolly with a softbox attachement - like a sheet over a brolly really.

that was quite close and turned up quite high.

I brought the smke up a little Stew, some curves, cojuld clone some in from other shots I guess, but it's more about the pose and eye contact on this one for me - was the best of the series, though others had more smoke

I was wondering if it was just the suit or an optical, did not realise Dave had shed a few pounds. Fair play, wish I could, but my legs have forgotten how to do much more than allow me to sit.

Excellent shot Ade, smoke and glass perfectly placed.
