this is another of the shots selected by Courtney for her portfolio - it's more of a classic model shot than the stuff I do i guess.
Very simple really - one light with a mini beauty dish on it - highish up to the left of her.
I was a long way off and down some steps with the 70-200, so the background blurred nicely. then I made it very dark ![]()
As I've been very pro this new voting system, I've uploaded it in that gallery.
If you have time and do give it a negative mark, let us now why so I can learn for next time

I was too far away to see the top to be honest - was about 20-30 meters once I'd got down the steps.
I love this. Nicely lit, the DOF makes her stand out, really cracking image Ade. Definitely going up....
ha ha - just got 2 negative marks there ![]()
no explanation
was up to 32 at one point
by far one of the better ones. shows that use of textures are a bit of a shame if the environment/bg looks great already. And here, with that metal what's it called on the side combined with the appealing dof it really works. not sure what you did different lighting-wise, but it works much better than in some of the previous shots where the different effect the lighting had on upper body and legs were a bit of an annoyance. And as mentioned, that slightly upward angle really helps a lot too.
Quote: How on earth could anyone vote this image with a minus vote? Quite ridiculous. Are you still pro the system? Up vote from me.
Rob.
Well I'm pro the experimental BETA test - but I'm not over the moon at people giving it a negarive vote with no explanation
At least when I gave a few shots a -1 I gave a paragraph on how to improve the shot
Not something that makes me stop normally as I find it hard to judge a good one from a bad(Quality outstanding that is) in this genree, Not sure wheat made me look twice .
The pose and dominant top colour I believe. My apology if this isn't helpful but thats was what i thought when i passed through, the fact is I like it
