Drax was the villan in the Bond classic Moonraker

It's also a power station in East Yorkshire

And here it is - it's huge and has 2 sets of 6 cooling towers which are about 1/2 mile apart, though it's quite hard to judge. Just means that the middle bit where they make power is emense and creates more power than anything else in the UK - I think it may be the biggest in Europe too, but not certain.

this is a puddle in the foreground, boggy as hell, but very still and reflective.

It's similar to the shot I posted 2 days ago, but tilted up a little to get the tops of the steam clouds, also left the right side a bit darker as it actually was quite dark on that side relative to the sunny left side.

Classic example of how to make a Power Station look attractive. Lovely colours and reflection.

you sure have a way with powerstations, even make them look a little romantic. this ones a stunner too and for me even stronger for the 2/3 composition with the reflection not competing for attention with the stacks.

great shot

It is immense inside Ade, I've worked in there a while back. Apparently the largest coal fired power station in Europe and supposedly the culprit that is responsible for destroying vast tracts of forest with acid rain, if you believe the Scandinavians.
Mind, I've also worked in Poland and Belarus where industrial pollution was on another level.

That's a stunner. You have shown an industrial site as a beautiful subject in a great image.

Superb image! I worked on the first test bores for the piling in '65 (I think). The guys up on the top could see Hull on a clear day!

Congrats on the HC Ade. These shots have inspired me to go out and find a similar spot round Didcot power station. Only 6 cooling towers there though.
