Some people don't like these things, so thought I'd do a shot that makes them look quite intimidating and oppressive.
What better than to get one that's really dominant in the foreground, as tall as the image, then have an army of them marching behind.
the sun to the left and the distant clouds made this shot for me really.
sometimes you sit back and think - yeah, that one works
this is one of them

colour fest or not! lol the toned/mono image works for me, a stark/different composition - good work
Prefer this one Ade...good comp & tones
Brilliant, good to see a different take here. I've seen many from here(including myself) but none like this, well seen.
Version one for me Ade, I'm with Mr Rhodes...it's different. Love the hint of light on the left side of each turbine
I agree ... I can see these from my doorstep too (if I stand on tiptoe and it's a clear day)
The first version works really really well and achieves what you set out to do, superb work. The second version doesn't have the same edge, although it is still a great image.
I like both versions, they are both great shots with there own qualities.
I really like the colour, tones and crop of the 1V, well captured
fantastic work..V1 for me
cheers folks - you've restored my faith in the world
I geuss the people who would love the second shot have not looked at the first cause the thumbnail would not be colourful enough
Lots of comments too - often says a lot when that happens
V1 is a good original take on these modern monoliths.
I'm one of the people who don't like these things, but I do like this picture (Version 1). It all works!
I like them both for different reasons. I like the side lighting and mood (menace?) of 1, and the colours in the sky on 2.
Sometimes mate, you're just a bit of a ****ing cynic, aren't you?
I like it.
But then, I'm just a miserable **** at heart.
Something very "Big Brotherish" about V1, and I don't mean that sh*t on TV! Kind of superior race if you know what I mean!
V2 is very pretty too
I like the horizontal lines in the clouds with the vertical turbines against them, the composition of the turbines, almost in pairs, and the fact that they are all different sizes.
Great images both are brilliant - I like windfarms I think they add to our landscapes and are eco friendly hopefully
Great pics Ade. First one is the best, with that brooding, menacing atmosphere. The limited colour palette works really well.
I personally like them, when I look out my living room window I can get an instant indication of which way the wind is blowing, if at all...and that's from an engineer that has worked in every fossil fuel and Nuclear power industry there is.
V1 for me Ade, not keen on the sky colour or out of focus image of V2
Quote: out of focus image of V2
it may not have been sharpened after resize as I rushed it as a joke, but it's certainly not out of focus!!!!
Stunning work, really like V1
V1 is stunning love it.Stu
excellent work ade,
love the moodiness of v1.lesley
Prefer the 1st image. A lot more dramatic and it "feels" more real. The 2nd image is slightly over saturated.
Gobsmacked this did'nt get a Pete Award so you'll just have to make do with mine. I don't care for V2 at all but V1 is certainly the best turbine shot I've seen in a long while.
Definitely the mono-ish shot for me (1). Far more interesting. The dark, brooding sky, the impression of cyclopean eyes all staring towards the horizon behind the point of view, and the good motion-blur on the blades all work together very well.
The brightly coloured one is, by comparison, just a photo of some wind turbines.
I like them both. The colours on the 2nd one are "nice", but the composition of the 1st wins for me
there is no doubt - V1 is the best - it is outstanding, original, powerful, thought provoking and makes the viewer want to hang around and study it for a good length of time. V2 though good does nothing for me and makes me think of all the other sunset saturated bright coloured landscape shots that everyone flood the galleries day in day out. i love something original and different and V1 fills my needs 100% - the type of shot that should be getting the EC's, HC's and user awards - not the done to death style like V2.
if i took up landscape photography i would aim to achieve a V1 type image any time any day.
i hope i havent caused any offense, none at all was meant by my words and now i will shut up because i am waffling
peter "morpyre" turner
V1 is outstanding and achieves what you set out to achieve Ade.

I stand corrected Ade, should have read 'unsharp image of V2'.
Version two is a nice photo but version one is jam packed with mood, menace and feeling.
Prefer #1 Ade.
