Went out with Warren on Thursday and had a wander down to Clarence dock

The light on the "usual places" was rubbish, grey and dull, but looking over the brewery there was a bit of sky action.

However, there was nothing really to use as a subject, so I decided to improvise and use the pagment, bollards, yellow lines, street lamps and chimneys to come up with something

A HDR of 3 shots, each 2 stops apart.

should have guessed it was your work from the thumb, but didn't, right up my street (please excuse the poor pun)

Like your use of lines in this Ade - not overly keen on the dominant yellow bollard but when need must use it.

yeah - its truly awful stuff isn't it?

I like an industrial shot me.... The bollard has the look of something that is going to up and walk away. I half expect to see it in an advert about road safety (do they still do those?)

Looks like the keep left has had a couple itself? Knew you have to get down on the side of the road again soon, too many landscapes for a city lad.

true dougie - got hundreds from the lakes to look through, yet find myself preferring editing gritty street scenes...

something a bit more niche about this stuff over the generic landscape

I love how you've got the lines filling the foreground, do you point the camera downwards or do you actually sprawl out on the tarmac?!

I get very low and use an angle finder to compose the shot - saves getting run over!

ah! yeah it was the running over bit that I wondered about! an angle finder sounds like a useful gadget

That bollard is laughing at you.

Love those light trails mate gives a real sense of dynamicism.

Composition on mine was slightly out as the bollard was slightly obscuring the chimney, guess i just need to get myself an angle finder lol
