Impossible to get the verticals right due to terrible parking by a UPS van and some other vehicles being in my way, so went for this imposing angle instead...

A very powerful image. I love the angle of the shot
and the processing ads to the power of the image.
Congratulations on the award,
John.

cheers folks

it is one of the most amazing buildings in the world... and 30 miles from my house.... and the only the second time I've photographed it!

I blame the extortionate parking charges in the city Wink

Just viewing this Ade and saying to myself, this is worthy of some award and the GEA popped up, inspired viewing.........Wink

Awesome shot Ade, my Wifes Grandmother lived a stones throw from the Minster, her Uncle lives there now and no matter how many times you see it, it still makes the hairs stick up on your neck.

I have come back a few times to view, and am still very impressed Ade, the depth of clarity and detail along with strong but careful applied mono conversion and framing within those trees it works so well.
So, and this doesn't get an airing very often, have my UA.

Wow - cheers Stewart.

means quite a lot when someone who knows the building well likes your interpretation of it :-0

Cheers

Ade,

Like Stewart, I've been back several times to look at this and the last time, I shortlisted it.

I don't know the building at all, in fact, I've only been there once but this is seriously impressive. Impressive enough that I've unleashed my UA as well. And that hasn't seen the light of day for getting on for a year.

Bren.

My walk to work takes me past the Minster regularly, and I can never stop myself looking up in awe. Superb shot, and the clever digital manipulation really makes it beautifully spooky.
