They say blue & green should never be seen, but rules are made for breaking
Here's one of my better efforts of an Emerald Damselfy from yesterday's little jolly in the Forest of Dean with fellow EPZ members Gary D and Glostopcat (Ed).
Turned into a good fun day, Gary's a cabbie and Ed's from Gloucestershire, so you think they'd know they're way around a bit, but no we got lost
Which ended up with me having to walk twice as far as I'd normally would, but we found what we were looking for in the end, eventually, after I took charge! I think both of them would get lost as soon as they turned out of the end of their own streets. By the time we'd got back to the car for a drink and a cup of tea, my legs and spine had had enough
and I didn't wanna play anymore
So I left them two herberts to it and came back home ![]()
Never mind still had a good time and a good old natter and a laugh, even managed to do a bit of photography. But I got lazy because the weather was so hot and the light so good, I decided to leave the tripod behind in the car.....Big mistake! I'll never learn
As a consequence what images I did take were a little bit ropey, never mind, it's not bad for a hand held image.
We decided next time we meet up we'll do it on my home turf, well at least there won't be any possibilities of us all getting lost!
Gary had his first large Dragonfly yesterday, a 4 Spot Chaser, so he was more than happy......But I said I'll show him the real monsters (Hawkers) down on the Somerset Levels! That's assuming of course the old beggar can find his way out of Wales without getting lost ![]()
Thanks for looking in and the kind comments on yesterday's micro moth.......Ade

A stunner indeed Ade! Everything about this is just perfection, one of your very, very best - can you tell that I love it?? ![]()

Excellent tale of woe ![]()
but what a cracker to come back with.
Dave
I know that feeling about getting lost and having to walk too far suffering for it next day
hubs has always got a short cut that sometimes turns out this way
superb work again Ade, glad you had a good time, a laff and natter it helps the day along![]()
One of my favourites. Classic composition. Tack sharp and great bokeh.
A top class close up Ade, they are such beautifully coloured dameselflys and ones i'd never seen before yesterday. Glad to hear you enjoyed your day down in the Forest and that you got some much needed excercise. The long hike was planned all along, Gary told me beforehand that we were under strict orders from Sue to take you on a long walk and give you a good work out!![]()

At least Ade or the "Wally with the Trolley" as you've dubbed him Mr Tomcat, completed the walk without moaning, had you been there you'd have been complaining of sore feet, whinging about nasty biting insects and flies and moaning that it was too hot!
lol
