One of our more colourful butterflies, this Painted Lady was feeding away without a care in the world on a thistle (just visible), which gave me lots of time to get a halfway decent image.
Hope your enjoying my butterfly uploads at the moment, I know some folk might be getting a tad bored of them, but it's summer and I like to make the most of it.
I'll log back on this afternoon to see what everyone else has been up to, only I'm off out this morning to hopefully try and capture some Grizzled and Dingy Skippers from a location close to home, it will be the last chance I get for a few days as it's my daughters wedding on Sunday and I've been volunteered to be the wedding tog on the day......I hate weddings!
I'd much rather be out shooting butterflies or other wildlife.....LOL
Hope you enjoy and thanks for all the kind comments on yesterdays upload........Ade
P.S. Please view large where the detail in the shot is much more apparent.

Great capture! The background sets it off. Lucky you having grizzled skippers around - you'll have to go chasing the Lulworth skipper next
Fine shot.
Dave
Not bored with them
As you say they are only around for a short time
Beautiful well composed macro. Lovely pin sharp detail and great colour.
