Looking at the subject first, the boy:
Hes underexposed, and lacks sharpness, so addressing this first is a good start. Hes likely underexposed due to the amount of bright light reflected by the large yellow object on the left.
If its cropped to exclude that yellow pastic object, its can work, but if you want to retain that playground element, it possible to select the yellow and background, copy it, and paste in onto the right of the shot, once you have extended the canvas on the right to allow it to fit. then crop the left out, and you have something like the mod Ive uploaded. The boy is nor further in from the right, he is exposed properly, and you have the playground environment. I did reduce the colour saturation of that yellow piece.
The mod shows what I mean, - hope its helpful.

Willie
Hello Ade, I guessed it was a shot from you, I think you have a keeness to shoot impromptu portraits with sufficient levels intimacy, either family members and even strangers, which shows beyond the specific image, confidence and good social skills. I don't know if this playful boy is a family member or he was instructed to show you and us his tongue. I think you should haad taken advantage of your social skill of communication with children and have attempted to shoot the same image not in a 3:2 format but to a 4:3 format, that might had included the yellow thing to appear whole and let is know understand clearer that the child is in a playground. By being positioned first, the child still holds my attention, due to the red details in his shirt that make my interest lean towards the right. If your camera doesn'toffer you that chance I would either move backwards to include it or move to a direction further to the right that could allow you to show it. Children are full of energy so they can be hard subjects to shoot. Your picture is an example of their playfulness.
Have you thought that the picture, as it is, is a great candit?????
