These hooligan birds are such a banquet of colour, even tho' they are grumpy, territorial, and act like a gang of marauding teenagers. The rain has defined his feathers into clumps of colour giving even more gravitas to his attitude.
The diamond patterned background is the trellis at the back of my garden, which I think adds an unusual background; something a bit different.

I love these birds, you have really captured the colours in his feathers.
I'll admit that the vote is for the abstract background - I'm not into feathery uploads really, but a good abstract - now that's another story!
