Love shots of these magnificent old steam locos, Alan: and I like both versions equally, the coloured showing off the livery of the machine whilst the B and W is so evocative of it's era.

The mono seems more evocative of the steam era. Nicely captured, Alan.

Excellent conversion in V1, the light on the paintwork really comes over.

I'm always torn between mono and colour with steam trains. I like to see the colour of the train, but I think mono brings out more atmosphere!

Mono seems to be the perfect treatment for this lovely old model of yesteryear. Reminds me of my younger days Alan.

And colour for me, too, Alan, it's such an important part of the engine's identity.
