This is another of my favourite shots from Ranthambhore - I'll go back to tigers soon. It's a pond heron or "magic bird." The magic appellation comes from what happens when it takes off. Having been dull and well camouflaged on its legs, the pond heron turns white when it spreads its wings at takes off. Fascinating to see.
