Animals, in my opinion have the same right to life as humans.
I too am upset

A young healthy giraffe has been killed at Copenhagen Zoo. The zoo said it had a duty to avoid in-breeding.

Male Kingfisher

V1: Great natural kingfisher photograph,Super perch and background.
V2 Very good attempt of a In-flight kingfisher shot, Very few photographers would even try a capture this difficult task.
Wetlands Arundel is quite a difficult place to photograph kingfishers, because you are in control of the environment.

Steve
I think you'r photography is outstanding, Not just this one.
I hope to see more of your' work in the future.
You have a lot of natural talent, and should do well in competitions.
Alan

PS: I hardly ever give UAs.

An exciting photograph having such a perfect exposure.
delicate colour and background.
I wish I could give it a Pete award.

Baby kingfisher

Baby kingfisher by Stevetheroofer

Juvenile kingfishers are so difficult to capture.
This year has seen a reduction in the kingfisher population.
Any photo of them is good but a baby special.
Worth one of my very rarely given awards.

Great in-flight shot. worth an award.
The 70-200 MK2 when available will make life even easier.

Kingfisher

Kingfisher by maudharry

Very good shot, sharp and framed well.
Before looking at the exif data, I knew it was a Canon camera taken using auto white balance.
If you had manually used kelvin 5700 white balance, the birds beak would not have a purple tinge,
and the colour would be more accurate.
It's a photo I would be pleased with, showing the action of the kingfisher about to gift a fish to it's young,
or even his spouse.

Way too many were lost due to the recent flooding around these here parts, I personally have been bereft of a KF image for over 18 months.)

I am so pleased to let you know they are breeding like rabbits in Hampshire.
I too will never tire of kingfishers, great photograph.

Fantastic,
It's a bad year for kingfishers.
