Thank you for the great response on my winter pictures. This was taken on the only open water around here at the moment, downstream a waterdam and upstream another lake

A fine winter snow snow scene, virtually B and W and with the only colour in the reeds and the ice along the bank.
Ronnie.

Peter this is brilliant, one of your best. A study in delicate shades of grey and white, with those hints of cold gold in the reeds - they are important. Austere, restrained, very beautiful.

PS I don't often put my UA on a landscape, it needs to be something special, personal. Not a 'look how clever I am' shot. This works for me because it is taken with understanding and love.

Very lovely indeed: fine composition (S-bend in the water), a sighing atmosphere and mottled reflections all contribute to a fascinating whole.

The reeds echo the upright attitude of the conifers so well, and add just that little bit of important colour. Beautifully done.

I like the winter palette-- and your choice not to convert to mono--- also like the wonderful reflections in the 'open water.'

A marvellous still life look to this frozen image Peter. The reeds giving the only hint of colour in an otherwise monochrome world.
