I've been hoping to get a shot that would knock my socks off, but the last week or two had some good shots in them, but none of them got me as excited as this one.
I was watering the plants in the back yard. The temperature is gradually working it's was into the high eighties, and by the week end, we may hit ninety, so keeping the plants watered is very necessary.
After I rolled up the hose, I noticed that a small hole had sprinkled a few drops of water on a leaf. I have done a lot of leaf pictures, so I wasn't sure I wasn't getting stale. I can't get down on my knees any more. One knee is made out of stainless steel, a souvenir from Vietnam, and getting to my feet can be difficult. I leaned as close as I could to the leaf, and took quite a few images. I was a bout to leave, when I decided to take a few more. As it turned out, that was a good idea. All of the first shots were out of focus. The second shots were sharp.
I did my routine of trying to get colors as interesting as possible. They aren't always the same color as the leaf started out. I worked on a dozen images, and I'm happy that I gave it my best shot, pardon the pun.
