I was in Japan at the same time the British export program put on a major show in Tokyo. British products were on display in several trade shows. The biggest show was held in the Budo-kan, the Japanese site for the gymnastics competition during the nineteen sixty four Olympics.
These two British actors were giving a performance about English culture and history promoting travel to the U.K. They caused quite a stir with these costumes, especially among Japanese women who loved the fabrics designs and color. Making their way from there rooms to the auditorium was a performance in itself.
