Iraq Burning

No, is is very recent. It was taken on 3rd December this year. I fly over Iraq quite regularly and this is a fairly normal sight. How much is from military or insurgent action is anyones guess, but I expect one or the other makes up most of it, because we don't see this anywhere else in the Gulf. The plume top right appeared to be coming from a burning oil well.

Lovely picture, I love the water rushing up the beach. It could do with the wire (?) running from the lighthouse to the top of the frame being cloned out though. The lighthouse seems to be leaning to th left as well. Still gets my vote though!
