One of a series shots taken at dungeness, heavily done place but it is a fantastic area.

Shot with 10 stop hitech filter.
Converted to mono in aperture, then in photoshop a second layer added with gaussian blur set to soft light. Back into aperture, added a slight tint and some dodge / burn.

This was a bright sunny day, i would have loved to stick around much later to shoot but did not have the time unfortunately. The light would have been fantastic in the late afternoon.

Very effective. B&W and soft tones makes it special. I particularly like the way the distinction between the foreground, horizon, clouds and sky on the left are indistinct.

I love the letterbox style format, and the subject matter. But for me, the soft focus effect is making my eyes hurt! I've got enough trouble focusing on things these days Grin The tones aren't particularly punchy, but to be honest that's quite nice - gives a lovely, gentle feeling to the image.
