Took this on a pleasant afternoon last Saturday in Berwick Upon Tweed. Stood for about 3/4 of an hour waiting for the sun to set and I was freeeeezing, but it was worth it (and hopefully others think so to).
Thanks for looking,
Michael.

Love the way the tiny bollard balances the lighthouse.
Well, of course it doesn't really; that was the first thing that crossed what passes as my mind. It acts as a stopper, just as a pawn can stop a rook on the chess board. Come to think of it, there is a vague similarity in shape. Hmmm . . . not surprising that I don't make many comments these days. Suffice it to say that I like the simplicity and clarity, and the tiny blue light in the window. The cold is in the air.

The bollard is a sort of anchor, it holds everything else in place.
I like the chess analogy. I do agree with Bill sometimes...
