I grabbed a quick shot in Glen Banchor, above Newtonmore during a quiet moment out on house calls at the weekend. First snow at ground level this year though all gone again now. It was an interesting mix of white and autumnal red and gold. It was frustrating to be working instead of free to be out with the camera. This was my first trip to the glen albeit for work purposes. I'd like to make it back in the next week or so if possible because the trees were really excellent and there will still be snow on the higher mountains (out of frame to the right). There are three Munros accessed from this location although the hill in the image is Creag Dhubh, well short of a Munro at 726m.

I thought it was a stream running down the hill but I see it's a river of snow, nice work Al.

Well composed with good colour and detail Alan.

The snow and gold is an unusual but eye-catching combination. A lovely lead in with the snow and excellent textures throughout. The portrait format and detail gives a wonderful depth to the image. Beautifully done, Al.
