Caught this female Red-Winged Blackbird preening and stretching herself. Although not as colourful as the male with its black body and colourful wings, the female is a beauty in her own right with her striking markings. Although shot at ISO 800, I think it came out well.

Thanks for stopping by, and for your clix and comments on my recent postings.

Love the stance and feather detail, as well as the little leaves bursting forth on the "perch". There is a beautiful curve from top to tail that is so lovely to look at.

OK, Stan.... now you're getting them to model for you??? I'm a bit uncomfortable about the thought that you'll have them on the 'catwalk' next. What if it has a different meaning?? LOL

I get loads of the redwing blackbirds in my yard. Then again, I think my yard has become a twitcher's paradise. Manny loves them anyway! (What kind of a dachshund is he?? LOL)

Love the details and the 'pose.' (Although I'm still thinking there's more to it than stretching!! LOL)

LOVE IT!
