This is a Gold Crowned Sparrow, which I believe is found on the lower part of the West coast of Canada. The name is obvious. Sparrows are one of my favourite subjects, and in more view often overlooked by avian photographers.

Good capture, Stan--- We have a bird like this-- white throated sparrow-- has a gold "crown" -- also a "white crowned" sparrow-- think they are all related--
Yours, a wonderful perch as they are mostly seen on the ground!
