I've been looking for this species for some time now but could never get a decent shot. The Northern Flicker is a member of the Woodpecker family I believe, and thie one is a Red Shafted Northern Flicker.
Thanks for looking, and for your continued support!

Amazing detail in what is an unusual bird for me, don't think I'd ever heard of this one Stan. Maybe just a bit too much space around it this time, still has your hallmark all over it though...

Superb color tones and detail in this great capture.

Canada has some charming birds, have never seen this one before, but its resemblance to a woodpecker is obvious. So glad you managed to get a shot of it at last, and thankyou for sharing it.
Thanks for introducing this bird, one I have never seen - and probably wouldn't know of its existance. It is a great one, nice colours and interesting plumage. Good shot and nice presentation.
