It is that time of the year when these large insects move into our area. They cause great damage to crops,gardens but especially the vines which is why as I type this I can hear tractors in the distance spraying in the vineyards.

He appears to be pawing the ground with malicious intent...
I love the way you have composed/cropped this around the antennae, they seem to be exploring the space available. Good one.

Well the 'Éphippigère des vignes' is actually quite harmless , it is the far more widespread 'provencale' who does the damage.
and is a really fine macro !!!
