This small church is in the village of La Mole in the south of France.
Built in 1872 it is still in daily use. The bell tower is a typical Provencal style.

Pollarded plane trees against a blue sky, somehow this is so unmistakeably French...

These unpretentious buildings crop up across the region, often in the most inaccessible of places such as at the top of ancient donkey-tracks overhanging towering precipices. I remember one atop the Calanques near Cassis which, like that at La Mole, at least had a little flat ground around it!
The colours are just right, the trees and sky too: happy days!
