This IS a leaf of once a lilly pant , with staples in it..I like this lots. It's something a bit different and the contrast between the delicateness of the leaf and the hard staples works. I have to admit that I thought it was skin with staples in it from the thumbnail. I am inspired my the way the leaf has discoloured where the staples have punctured. It gives a look of blood through skin. I wonder what this would look like with a few filters added to enhance that look even further.

Sun Rise

Sun RiseMorning Gordon.
I've just sent you a mod Via E-mail. Hope that's ok.
Really liking your composition here. You have enough interest throughout the image without distracting from the focal point of the Nab.
I think that sunrise looks gorgeous! the weather was favorable Smile.
In the mod, I have played around with the white balance. Your image looks a little bit on the cool side, which I think detracts from what looks like a very warm sunrise. I used lightroom to alter the white balance. I did this by clicking on the white balance pipette in the development menu and scrolling over the image until the preview showed a warmer colour. I used the rock in the foreground to judge if I was anywhere near the colour I thought best.
I also tweaked the curve by bringing up the 'lights' to enhance the sun glowing behind the clouds.
Looks like you had very nice conditions! not that I am jealous or owt Wink. Can't wait to see what other shots you have from that area Smile

Sign of the Times

Sign of the Timesand if i had of scrolled down before firing off a PM then I would have hung fire lol.

First things first, the colours are spot on, rich but not burning the retina. I like the lead in from the pier, don't think it matters that its not on the third. The Horizon... well, nuff said about that already. May have been a stronger comp if you had a lower perspective?
The halo (ever so slight but there none the less) is a teeny bit distracting, are you aware the DPHDR has halo reduction setting?
Would I have been tempted to take out the sun althogether and bring the pier to the left third? Well, i didn't and I was there, so maybe it wouldn't have worked.
Anyway, now i've ripped it to shreds....top job kidda.
