Like a lot of folks I spent a long time in the cold and dark trying to capture the eclipse. This is probably my best effort. I found focusing durning totality very difficult.
1/25 @ F22 @ 300mm (+2x teleconverter)
How cool is the moon? Great shot I wish I could produce something like this. one day....
Were you using autofocus? If you had set up the shot using manual focus while the moon was still bright, then it would remain in focus for all subsequent exposures.
Great moon shot - looks very nie
This looks pretty sharp, especially using a teleconverter (they are seldom top quality). I tried to pre-focus while the moon was bright, but wasn't convinced & re-focussed during totality. Both worked equally well, I used manual focus on the limb (edge) of the moon & the focus indicator did seem to work to confirm what I was seeing (D200).
Thanks for the nice comments. I was using manual focus, but I had to keep wiping condensation off the lens, and despite my best efforts I must have moved the focussing ring. :-(
Click and click dude, great job.
I got the equipment out in the cold before hand to prevent condensation, I found it hard to get the focus right on my scope, so I took a couple of shots then moved focus took another couple and so on, just to make sure I had one or two I could use.
Excellent capture of the moon
