Tried a high contract processing technique I read in a Lightroom book. Would welcome any comments

Great shot. In Lightroom you can adjust the contract. The hi-contract setting is too much. Use the slider or the custom setting to adjust the contract level. Another thing to remember in using medium to high contrast is that you have to adjust the color spectrum. When you adjust one aspect of the pic you must restabilize the others. Your original pic has so much to offer, character, depth and pleasure, don't take that away form your work.
