A nice frame filler, I prefer to see a little more face profile. Try taking the photo more from the front of the bird too, though I avoid those straight down the barrel shots with birds of prey, though, this may not sit happy with everyone, each to their own.👍

I would just like to see a compositional shift here to show more space ahead of the bird. I will upload a hastily done mod to demonstrate my idea.

I've uploaded a less-cropped version.

I happy to see the original shot, as for me its a much better image than V1.

In V1, you havent taken advantage of the max pixel dimension, - your at 474 rather than 600, so the image is a tad small, and its also quite soft. It can lileky benefit with more sharpening. However, seeing the entire bird on the ground, in what is a close to perfect composition is better than trying to digitally zoom into the head, and reduce the image quality, which is effectively what a close crop on a small image will do.

I have loaded a mod of V2, and its also needing a little sharpening, and a straighten, and I think it a fine shot. Theres something you need to keep in mind when re sizing your image for upload, and thats to check the new, re sized image for sharpness by opening it, check sharpness, adjust, save, and then upload, I believe missing this step may be the cause of the image appearing soft on the site.

Hope you find this helpful,

regards

Willie
