wow. perfect.
excellent detail, light and wing position. a real stunner!!
Sometimes I shake my head in dis-belief, how could the epz award team miss this one....wrong judge...wrong day...I just dont know..in my opion this image should have been awarded a GE or HC at the very least...but they seem to do this on a regular basis where birds are concerned

I tend to agree Terry. However, I prefer UA's from wildlife photographers. To me it means so much more. Don't know whether Tom agree's? It really is a stonker, and had to come back to it to see how it is getting on.
Nah both would be fine Luke lol, I don't mind really i know wild life photographers appreciate how difficult some shots are to get. and there not judged so much on there rarity more of a fine photo to see. Seen some amazing sites in the past and would have had many winners,ie camera in the boot, light to low not enough speed on processing,to slow to focus etc but all that encourages me in my challenge Making a good shot even more rewarding if i get one, this is my fourth year i have tried for short eared owls and my 1st success,i have needed and lacked the use of infra red in the past, this year i was blessed with good light and a great show, right place right time with half an idea,i am always wishing for that perfect shot and have seen many who have achieved this, some very regularly too on ephotzine, this inspires me to do better.thanks for everyone's comments and support.all in time to make this a very happy Christmas for me![]()
