I like your viewpoint and the movement in the sky. Unfortunately, the rumour you heard is correct, the tree trunk was snapped in storms (last year?).

A lovely version of this wonderful tree. It's broken across the two branches but it might not be dead just yet. The tree might yet spring new growth, I'm keeping an eye on it regularly, it would be wonderful if we see new growth. The Dead tree farther across the moor id gone, smashed by the storms and lying in bits.

You've got a fine image of this tree, so hang onto it.
