Goodrington Sands last weekend. Lovely light and good weather.

I reduced the colours in all except the pinks. Liked the hand-tinted look it gave.

This is a lovely shot Angela..I love to see children walking on the beach. I might have cropped it slightly more to give a bit more emphasis on the little girl but saying that I would have to look at the two shots to see which was best. Well done.

I prefer the mod as it moves the child from the centre of the frame but gives her room to walk into. The following is a picky point. What works for me is the child seemingly alone on the beach intent on going about her rock pooling or whatever. But the shot includes the shadow of the person walking behind her - which spoils the illusion.

I thought the other shadows were a bit intrusive so have removed them.
Did a slightly different crop to yours, I have kept the full length of the fishing rod in to give a sense of the size of the little girl.
Hope you think it's OK.

Thanks you two... very good point about the shadow. I'd seen it, but it hadn't occurred to me to do anything about it! (Duh!) Thanks ever so for the mod' Hilary. How did you do it?

2 people' shadows, but only one in it, I would incline to include the other person as well.
Then get down lower on your viewpoint.
Also, you can't see the expression of the little girl in this one. So, probably wait till she turns around.

HTH.

Thanks for the new comments... HTH I shoud've taken the second persons shadow out... I wanted her as 'little-girl-on-big-beach' and, as she's not my little girl, I don't like to include faces. We were high up on a sea wall too, but I see how that would give a lovely shot. Thanks.

Hi Carabosse... thanks for the mod'... you've put it back exactly the way it was before I started! Smile I'm not sure who wasted the time, I suspect it was me! I think it was slightly over sharpened though, as strange colours have appeared on the little girls coat. The time was much appricaited though. Thanks!

Hi Angela - I think it all looks too dull for a bright sunny day - have put my version in a mod.

Thanks Bri... you put a lot of hard work in that one. You've gotten more of the coat pattern in, which is nice!

Just what I wanted... thanks Bri. I'm really going to have to take more care and really look hard at what I'm putting up.
