This is a cactus plant know as False Saguaro (Pachycereus Pringlei).

A BIG thank you to Jenn Taggart for her UA.

Note to Annette:
When I first saw the plant, I thought it was a Saguaro. This must be a common mistake and probably accounts for the name.

A good close crop of some lethal spikes, Walter. Strong shadows and lovely green tones emphasised by your processing. Great piece of work.

I recognized this as yours immediately - very much your style Walter. Love the format on this one which works so well with the vertical rows of spines.

I wonder why it is false. Did you stick the spikes on? Or does the real one come with some nice smelling red fruit?
any which way, I like the processing which must have been a pricky thing to do.

The strong lines, and shades of green make this a terrific image Walter, add to that the wonderfully geometrical patterns formed by the spines and you have a brilliant image... As usual Walter a top notch capture!

Everything about this image works! The neat, regular composition compliments the random spikes. The spikes shout--- 'sharp and lethal.'

Colors and frame in keeping with bit of perfection!

I really like the strong graphic lines of this abstract image Walter - the lines of the spikes, the grooves in the fleshy part of the plant (is it obvious that I know nothing about gardening? Smile) and the vertical lines between each section all combine to make an artistic and cleverly-created image. The use of light and shade is excellent - a cracking image, as usual Smile

Anna

I hope you didn't get too close Walter - those spikes could do real damage. Love the composition and those shadows.
