i lke the message the photo sends out...,
however, a few things are worth mentioning:

1. in my oppinion, the grass is distracting; Getting closer would have been a lot better
2. a larger aperture would thrown the background out of focus even further just to isolate the subjects better
3. a zebra has b&w stripes so converting the whole photo to b&w would have made the grass less distracting while making the subjects stand out even more

next time, try to visualize the framing in your head first, try different angles, ... set yourself free!

thanks

It's a very charming shot, Annamarie. Zebras are very challenging to shoot because of the black and white colouring. Your camera has made a good effort but some of your whites are burned out. I think the light might have been too harsh at the time you took the photo. It;s a shame because who could resist such an appealing pose. They look as if they are posing for the camera! The grass in the background looks fine but I would have a go at cloning out the animals there. The grass in the foreground is a little distracting also. It might be possible to clone it out but it would take a time. It's just one of those things about photographing animals in the wild.

Definitely has that "aaaaahhhh" factor.

Best wishes

Catherine
